The liquid amber tree outside of our classroom has just leafed out. The tiny leaf buds have exploded open! Last Tuesday, March 16, the swallows returned to our school and are darting over our heads when we play on the grass. They are nesting in the drain pipes coming off of the roof. We have a family of white-crowned sparrows living in a bush right outside our room. The 4 babies have all learned to fly and feed at our classroom birdfeeder all day long.
