I saw a Monarch on a tree at recess. It was about 12:40 in the afternoon. The temperature was around 70 degrees.
a 4th grader at our school, saw the Monarch on a tree under which he was sitting at recess. It is located near a ditch, which I will check for Milkweed. We have had several days of strong winds. Could the Monarch have blown up this far north? We have had good practice identifying Monarchs, so I feel that he was probably accurate. Another student of mine saw a Monarch yesterday (March 23) at school by another tree, in a separate incident, after school hours about 3:20. Our school is located near a park, which may explain the Monarchs better.
