Despite an enormous amount of precipitation this school year (over 60 inches reported since 11/09 to date), our three control tulip bulbs did not freeze! One of our control tulip bulbs emerged on March 8, 2010. On that same date, we had 3 experimental tulip bulbs emerge. We are checking our tulip bed every other day now. As of, March 22, 2010, we now have a total of 14 bulbs emerged-- two of which are control bulbs and the other 12 are experimental. We are predicting our tulip bloom date now. The students are so excited about their tulip bulb experiment. Many of the students have noticed their Partner Garden Tulips have emerged and some have even bloomed. Spring is finally here despite our final snow of 7 inches on the first day of Spring, March 20, 2010!
