"Lake Warden Ken Bailey determined that the ice was officially out on Megunticook Lake as of March 19 at 5:02 p.m., making it the earliest of such declarations in more than 100 years."
"Prior to the March 19 ice-out date, the earliest record had been March 23, 1903, said Bailey."
"Last year, ice out was called on April 8 for Chickawaukie Pond and on April 13 on Megunticook, almost one month later than this year."
