Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/22/2010

Number: 1

Traveled up 281 from San Antonio to the farm below Marble Falls on the Colorado River. Saw the first very dull-colored Monarch just south of the Guadalupe River. Spotted another brighter looking one crossing 2147E at Flat Rock Creek, then another one at Double Horn and Grid Iron Creeks. Later saw another in the pasture.
Have looked and looked for milkweed as I drive here and there, but have yet to spot any, even when I get out and walk in places I normally find it. Hopefully it's just too short to spot yet. Milkweed at home in San Antonio is finally putting on some growth....
