Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/25/2010

Number: 1

Saw my first monarch this afternoon in my backyard. It was feeding on the flowers of a verbena plant. It was beautiful,it looked to be in very good shape. The milkweed plants are just beginning to break through the ground here, we had several very cold weeks this winter. I am concerned about the monarchs having enough milkweed here in Central Texas for their egg laying.
