Ice out on Christie's Pond

We thought for certain that the ice would be out yesterday,but at nightfall there was still a stubborn 20% cover of ice on the pond! Brisk NW winds did the job, driving the remaining ice towards the South Shore.


Our own records show that this year the ice went off the pond ten days earlier than last year, 2009. And last year's date was two weeks earlier than the 2008 date.... and the 2008 date was three days earlier than the 2007 date!
