The first male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD appeared this am with the easing somewhat of
the rain and wind. It favored a perch in a small tree just outside one of our
windows, dividing its time between fly-catching sallies and nectar gathering
(red currant, twinberry, Oregon grape). The first female Rufous showed Sunday a
week ago, 03/20. That's about a median date for first arrival here. The only
two I've seen so far.
