Spotted our first Barn Swallow - it came onto the front porch where they nest every year and called out like it was trying to see if anyone else had made it here before it did- then it flew off and we haven't seen it again. I'm guessing it was probably fledged here and has made it's own nest somewhere else close by. When the barn swallows return each year we take the day off and celebrate the new season by switching out our seasonal clothes- Great way to get the kids excited about the coming of the barn swallows !
