"Strong winds and 70-degree temperatures kept the final days of March warm but it took until April to melt the last of the lake ice."
White Bear Lake ice out historian Jan Holtz-Kraemer declared April 1 as the official 2010 ice out date. The final ice traces disappeared in the lake’s north basin sometime in the early morning hours."
