Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/27/2010

Number: 1

I was watering my lawn, which I had covered with soil, and an adult Monarch circled over my head for a while, then settled on the moist soil and 'puddled' for a bit, then flew away. It had its wings closed while puddling, so I couldn't tell if it was male or female. I don't yet have any butterfly weed or nectar plants available.
