On 4/1/10 Our home is 5 miles west of Redding, Ca. at 1000 ft. elev. We are considered in the Town of Shasta area. I first observed a hummingbird in the late afternoon. It few to our west side of the house, this is the front of the house. We have a courtyard on this side of the house with many native plants. I placed a feeder up. And today we have two birds feeding. These may be our local Hbirds that nest in our oat trees. Green in color. It started raining this morning with a light breeze.
