My husband and I went kayaking on our lake (Whitefish Lake) from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. We saw one loon in Dean's Pond area of the lake (about 2 km from reference point given) at about 4:30 p.m. and a second loon in the bay which we can see from our place (at given reference point) at about 5:30 p.m. What is interesting is that there were still vestiges of ice on other parts of the lake. The loon on the bay is still here (2 days later) suggesting it is "our" loon and not one passing through.
