Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/03/2010

Number: 1

While planting our annual milkweed plants at Metzler Elementary's sensory garden at 12:30 PM CDT on 04/03/2010, we spotted a monarch butterfly flying near the school building before disappearing over the top of the building. Too far away to see if it was male for female. This is our second year of planting the garden, and we get several adults to lay eggs on our milkweed so we can study their stages in classes before releasing the full-grown monarchs!
