I almost missed seeing this first hummingbird. It was fairly far away when I first saw it fly by. I walked closer to my butterfly garden for a better look and had my lucky sighting of a single female Ruby-throat. She was feeding on the first blooms of the Autumn Sage before briefly visiting the feeder. It was about 3:45 pm. The weather was mostly cloudy with temperatures in the high 70s.
