"The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reported that the ice went off both Green Lake near Spicer and Lake Minnewaska between Starbuck and Glenwood on Friday.
The ice-out dates for both are early, but not records."
"Historical records show the average ice-out date for Green Lake is April 16. The earliest recorded ice-out on Green Lake was on March 22, 1987 and the latest was May 7, 1951, according to records by the DNR and Minnesota Climatology Office."
"The records show the average ice-out date for Lake Minnewaska is April 13. The earliest ice-out occurred on March 23, 2000 and the latest on May 7, 1950"
