"After a warm start to Spring, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office declared an "ice out" on Friday for Lake Minnetonka."


"Spokesperson Lisa Kiava says the ice out is declared when a boat can make it through the "Narrows" around Big Island and back to the Water Patrol Unit on Lake Minnetonka in Spring Park."


"The typical ice out date is April 15. "
