Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/02/2010

Number: 1

We moved the dried milkweed stalks in their pots to the South side of the house for the winter. A few leaves of new plants are
coming up. Since we had such a cold winter, we hope moving the pots may have helped the milkweed come up earlier than it would have otherwise. I have pictures from last year of many many eggs on each leaf of the milkweed. There is one incredible picture where you can see many eggs, one tiny caterpillar just hatched out and another that is plenty big enough to identify.
What a year it was last year. We had so little milkweed when the butterflies came through.
