Its been over a week since I've seen a Monarch. I think I saw a total of four or five this year. Much, much lower than normal in Austin area. Journey North only counts first of the year, not total observed which is unfortunate.

I have yet to find a single egg or instar despite checking close to 100 different milkweed plants in different areas in and around Austin. WInds have been strongly from the south several days over the past week. Supposed to be clear, warm, and calmer after front tomorrow. Here's hoping they've gone east, west, or north .... someplace!
