The PS 230 Urban Garden club planted 15 Red Emperor Tulips--one for each student in the club, one for the teacher, Ms. Seitz, and a couple of extras. (We also planted three bulbs upside down to see what would happen. This is our experimental garden.)
The first tulips emerged on St. Patrick's Day, March 17. Seven were sticking out of the ground, ranging in size from 1/2 cm. to 2 1/2 cm, which may mean that the taller ones actually emerged a day or two earlier. (We were unable to check the garden earlier.)
By March 20, all of them had emerged.
