Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 04/07/2010

Number: 1

The robins were singing one morning last week. It was Wednesday and by the time I thought of entering the information we were thinking about the storm that was coming. Actually, it wasn’t really that much snow 5-10cm, but the wind just about blew all of us away. Before the snow and wind started we had sleet.

Yes, the robins sang briefly last week just before the wind, sleet and snow came. Sunday was better, but it was cold again and when we were out pounding the pavement I knew that I needed an extra pair of mittens. I was caught off-guard because we had a fairly warm winter and early spring. Saskatchewan is a province of great extremes. By the end of March everyone has been exhausted by the winter. Spring is just around the corner.

See when this Northern Observation Post predicted first robin!
