I tell ya, this is the best year we have ever had for Monarch eggs, to larva, to pupa. We had monarch caterpillars every where (i sent a few pictures), but one day we counted over 60 monarch caterpillars on different milkweed plants. 3 of the plants had some 16 to 18 larva on each plant. there were so many, when the milkweed was all gone, you had to watch out where you walked in the yard. i was always picking them up and moving them to keep from stepping on them. it was amazing. we only very rarely get to see the cocoon, and today on the back porch alone there are 5 cocoons hanging. 1 hanging on an old screen for a window i had sitting at the back door to repair. this is too cool.
