All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 04/19/2010

Number: 1

I was out in my back yard on April 19, 2010, around 12:30 PM. I spotted a hummingbird at one of my feeders. Since his back was towards me, I couldn't see his face and throat, but his back and wings were iridescent green...I think this may have been a Black-chinned. I've lived in spokane less than two years, but this bird's arrival seemed to be about two weeks earlier than last spring. spotted what seemed to be the same bird through my kitchen window yesterday at about 6:00 PM at the same feeder. I still haven't been able to identify what type of hummer it is. I hope he will be back regularly. I have provided 6 feeders around my yard.

April 23
I've finally identified my first hummer...a male Calliope.
