Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/24/2010

Number: 1

I seen my first Hummingbird for the 2010 season, on this beautiful Saturday morning at 10:00. I was standing there looking at my Hummingbird Flowerbed...trying to decide if I had room for a few more plants and then the tiny little Hummingbird flew to the feeder that I have hanging on a Trellis in the Flowerbed and it drank from the feeder for quite awhile. And when it had enough, it flew up into the Bald Cypress Tree in the which is on the other side of my fence.
I have 2 big Sage Plants in full bloom in the flowerbed, one red, one pink and Red Dianthus and Red Petunias and a red and orange flowered Lantana that was made into a small tree and I have this BIG Poinsettia plant that I had since Christmas and it is covered in it's BIG RED leaves still! So I have plenty of flowers in this flowerbed to make it one happy Hummingbird! Plus on the other side of my house, I have plenty of pastel colored flowers in bloom. The little Hummingbird doesn't know it...but it just made my day a lot brighter!
