Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 04/23/2010

Number: 1

Well, before we even had a chance to throw our guesses into the arrival of the first migrating robins, they are here!! None, none, none... then Friday, April 23rd the 3rd-6th Graders at our school came storming in with sightings, songs and earthworms to boot! So the robins have arrived in Homer, Alaska and are singing! We are singing too, because the sun was out and so were we. Sun, returning cranes overhead and the song of the robin!Happy Spring to all!

April 28
Though Homer has had robins for 5 days now... just this morning, robins were seen at higher elevations on the ridge. Fireweed 3rd Graders think that warmer temperatures brought robins sooner to town areas, than the colder temperatures up higher.
