I live in a suburban are of Kansas City but have a pond and open space that is surrounded by woods. Still no sightings or my (1) indigo bunting, (2) Rose Breasted Grossbeaks, (3)Northern and Orchard Orioles, and (4) Ruby throated hummers. Anyone else in the Missouri/Kansas area seen these species yet? Last year i was swamped with the Grossbeaks, but none this year. According to my notes, the Buntings showed up on April 27 in 2009, and the Orioles on May 2nd, 2009. My oranges, jelly and nectar are out and waiting! ha
