Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 04/26/2010

Number: 1

THE FIRST ROBIN SEEN for our area was seen in Shageluk Slough, April 26. We heard Robins in Shageluk that same day. LOTS of Robins and White-Crowned Sparrows heard this morning at 6:00 A.M. April 28. This morning was an incredible walk to school for me because of all the SINGING! TONS of Robins this morning.

We are celebrating our youth with Yukon-Innoko River Youth Days so it is quite busy here with kids from other villages and our own. Kids are carving, tanning Marten skins, learning Native dances and games, knitting, beading and socializing with each other. Fun times!

See when this Northern Observation Post predicted first robin!
