The tulips we planted last year actually bloomed one day earlier than this year's. Unfortunately, deer can stick their long tongues through chicken wire and were able to nip off several buds just before they bloomed. We planted garlic nearby but it didn't seem to bother the deer! We have 17 out of 24 beautiful blooming tulips.
