Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/02/2010

Number: 1

Observed partially underneath a tile on the roof . . . seems a little early only 18C currently. Tile might be protecting it from the wind? A monarch is a rare event for me for early May. We were upstairs looking out the window right at it (the roof is right across from the window). My mom and I used to catch them and release them in the summer all the time when we were camping, so I have seen them before. I was surprised to see it too which is why I grabbed my parents to show them. I googled their migration pattern list, found your site, and indeed there have been sightings in the states just south of here, and there was one in canada even. The past week we have been warm, in the 70's with lots of rain. Things have been blooming for a few weeks now. If I see another one and I have a camera, I will take a picture!
