There are now 2 male and 2 female Bullock's Orioles in our yard. We hung the nectar feeder up. The birds will come to it, willingly, but don't seem comfortable. The nectar splashes out when the bird lands and the feeder tips. Also, the nectar gets spilled if the wind whips the feeder around too much. What to do? After all these years, I decided to mount the feeder solidly on a 1"X12". With a little bit of this and a little bit of that, the design worked to a "T"!! Ha, Ha! The orioles are so comfortable sitting on the feeder, sipping that nectar. No spills!
