We saw a dark colored hummingbird--black head, gray body, just a trace of a ruby throat, sitting on a lilac bush outside our livingroom window. It's cold here--frost warning for tonight, frost last night--so we hope it will be OK. We got a good look because it perched much longer than in the summer.
