Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/13/2010

Number: 1

I left on vacation on the 4th of May and it was cold. Did not put out my feeder as I was going to be away and no one to take care of it. When I returned on the 12th of May I put it up. Did not see any hummers around it but I was told they were in the area. Another neighbor had theirs out and saw them at it so evidently they arrived around their usual time. I finally saw one at the feeder on the 13th and and it was a female later I spotted a male feeding. I put out some petunias in a pot but it hasn't been very nice for them. Today it is raining again and not too warm. At least they have the feeders around. Just hoping it warms up soon here. Today I have seen them again at the feeder. Hopefully all will work out for them this year around here again. They are so amazing.
