Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/14/2010

Number: 1

This morning our students spotted the first Monarch sighting of the season! This beautiful creature was fluttering around the buses as the children were coming into the school. It was not close enough to determine gender. The monarch fluttered from the buses over to our Courtyard that is filled with flowers and trees. We are ecstatic to see the monarch and are looking for many more sightings!

Our classroom is aware of the large migration of monarch look alikes and we are absolutely certain that this butterfly was a monarch! Thank you so much for checking!
