My first ruby-throated hummingbird -- a female -- arrived on schedule today. In the 3 years I have lived here, she has always arrived on 5/15. My feeders have been out for 3 1/2 weeks, but this is the first hummingbird I have seen this year; in spite of reports about much earlier sightings in my area.
