On an outing on last Saturday, May 15, 2010, I kept sighting black birds that had red wings. I shared this information with my mother, who told me that the birds were probably woodpeckers. I did not think that was true because from where I was observing them, I could not see any signs of long beaks. After looking them up on-line, I know now that they are the red winged black birds mentioned.
