The residential area of the Presqu'ile peninula is ablaze with lilac in bloom. Red admirals all over the place, as well as other butterfly species. I was walked across one yard and lo and behold, a monarch landed on the lawn to nectar from a small blue flower growing out of the grass. I took one photo with closed wings, but the monarch - a dull, dark orange color - quickly took off again. Sighting was on Lilac Lane!
Must look for eggs tomorrow.
