Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/23/2010

Number: 1

One of my students identified a Monarch yesterday as he was cutting the grass next to an open field of grasses. He said the Monarch was going from flower to flower getting nectar. We raised, tagged, and released 26 Monarchs last fall, so we have all been diligently watching to see the first in town. We have even started a dedicated 5th grade butterfly garden, specifically for Monarchs. :-)
