I have been watching and scouting for my first monarch for over a week now. Today when I was on the local bike trail, I finally saw one. Then further on down the trail, I saw another. I kept seeing them for the next five miles. All total I saw 6 monarchs today. Usually at this time of year I only see one or two so today was very unusual. I even saw two monarchs that were mating and flying along side the trail. All of them were brightly colored and very fresh looking. The weather was 80 degrees with sunny skies and a slight breeze.
