Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/27/2010

Number: 1

Museum Volunteer Kim Becker reported seeing the first adult monarch flying on museum property on this date. She was looking out the back window of the upper level of the main building while working on a project and watched the butterfly fly into the glass, continue along the long eastward facing side of the building in a southerly, then finally fly up and over the building towards the northwest. Wing condition was pretty good, not pristine but not tattered. This happened sometime between 8:30 am and 10 am.
