I am certain that I saw a monarch butterfly on May 24.
This monarch was in our back and front yards until May 27, when a larger monarch appeared in the backyard and the two butterflies flew up toward the sun and then East over the treetops in our woods. I have been fortunate enough to have observed wintering monarchs on eucalyptus trees in Santa Cruz, CA this March. I saw them fly to the ice-plants which were in the same location. I had a good chance to observe them.
