Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 05/24/2010

Number: 1

The Monarchs are still laying eggs on the south side of our home, which we host the Monarchs only. The caterpillars have now eaten all of our Milkweeds, and are beginning their journey to cocoon under pots, on the exterior walls, on our Coconut Palms as well. We also host the Queen Monarch but have not had too many to host this year, nothing like the Monarch. It's amazing they come year after year here and know exactly where to come to. We currently have about 25 caterpillars, and back in April when we had the first wave of Monarchs we had about 40 caterpillars in the front and approx. half made it.
