Native Territories Avian Research Project

I had not seen a Monarch up until Memorial Day weekend. On Sun., 30 May numerous Monarchs were spotted by both Carl & I while we were banding hummingbirds. At least 10 Monarchs were seen. Three females were seen laying eggs on common milkweed. Our milkweed throughout the territory is between 7-8 inches tall and upwards of 2.5 feet. Up until then, we had spotted no eggs, even along the marsh areas. Every plant was clean.
