Hummingbird, Rufous (FIRST)

Date: 06/09/2010

Number: 1

After my first sighting of a Ruby Throat and Rufous in the first part of May, I had over a dozen male and females at the feeders. Now I seem to have only two remaining males and haven't seen a female in about a week. This year we have had high winds, cooler than normal temperatures and lots of rain, which makes me wonder if the majority of my hummingbirds have moved on to warmer climates. I did find a newly constructed Hummingbird nest on the ground two weeks ago after a night of high winds. I miss these little guys and look forward to seeing them again soon.
