All Other Signs of Spring

The last 3 days I noticed a pair of eastern blue birds bugging in the yard and both male and female checking out one of my empty bird houses. The female and male will go into the house but so far the female hasn't started to build inside of it. When another bird even tries to go by the house the male is very aggressive at attacking the bird. Both male and female perch on my oak trees branchs throughout the day into the evening feeding staying in eyes sight of the birdhouse. Two years ago I had a pair of bluebirds that nested in a house I had unfortunatly sparrows pulled the babies out bringing them to their death. Sparrows are known to be the bluebirds enemies making the blue bird count dwindle over the years along with starlings. To have less sparrows at my feeders in the summer time I stop putting out white millet seed until fall again.
