Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/15/2010

Number: 1

Yesterday (Tuesday, June 15, 2010) at 3:18 P.M., while sitting on my deck, I noticed a brightly colored Monarch checking out my Milkweed that I have planted next to the patio, and is doing very well. I ran in the house for the camera, and was able to snap a few photo's, of her, then she landed on the edge of a milkweed leaf and deposited an egg. I lost sight of her then, but I'm sure she visited another area we have densley planted with Milkweed, and no doubt she laid more eggs there.I will be monitering all locations closely the next few weeks. I'm really excited.
