Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/13/2010

Number: 1

This was my first Monarch sighting this year. It was at Banshee Reeks in Leesburg. The milkweed is robust and in full bloom, fragrant like sweet honey, and covered with bumblebees, fritillaries and Little Glassywings. Then along flew a Monarch and my heart skipped a beat with joy! It continued to fly down into the field, so I didn't get to check the sex but it was a wonderful sight to see!
