I had just about given up hope to see our Monarchs this year when we saw our first this morning around 10am (June 21)and it seemed to know exactly where the milk weed plant was. It fluttered around for a long time. Landing on the plant and then going off a short distance only to come back again. The plant is starting to flower which is the first time for a long time that it has been so advanced when the butterflies arrived. However, the Monarchs seem to be arriving later than usual here.
