this is an up-close and personal sighting. ten minutes ago my first monarch broke out of her chrysalis. very excited! from harvested egg to beautiful butterfly. what a incredible experience. i feel bad for all the eggs and tiny caterpillars in the milkweed patch that didnt make it. i have a new loathing for ants, spiders and wasps. chrysalis #2 in a couple days then i will try again in the fall. have to go look at my butterfly again...............
