We found several colonies of 50 or so butterflies each along the Chattooga River just about the Iron Bridge on Bull Pen Road at the border of North and South Carolina. They all looked very active and healthy down in the river gorge.
Another colony was found at the intersection of Bull Pen Road, Horse Cove Road and Whiteside Cove Road and many of those had died in the road.
