Quick addition for previous notes:
A friend of mine reports seeing many flying Monarchs on his travels during the past week. Today on a trip to Stillwater, MN and back I also saw many flying Monarchs. To me this says that many late May egg layings were successful and there is now a good number of Monarchs to begin the next generation.
